Public transportation: More frequent connections and more

With the new, simple way to buy tickets in the MVGO app, you can now simply swipe and go. In addition, there are more connections to Moosach and Schwabing Nord.

New ticketing system

Thanks to the MVVswipe ticket system, you no longer have to worry about finding the right ticket. With the new, easy way to buy tickets in the MVGO app, you can now simply swipe and go!

Using automatic location recognition, MVVswipe always searches for the cheapest price for connections within the MVV network area (max. daily ticket price). Billing is done automatically the next day.

The MVVswipe ticket is ideal for anyone who only occasionally travels by bus or train in Munich.

More subway and streetcar (Tram) services

Münchner Verkehrs Gesellschaft MVG implemented the following service improvements at the beginning of January. They are particularly important for commuters who travel to companies in Moosach or Parkstadt Schwabing.

  • Since January 2025, the U3 has been running every 5 minutes to Moosach during rush hour, doubling the service on the section between Olympiazentrum and Moosach.
  • The extension of Tram 12 from Scheidplatz to Schwabing Nord will now provide Parkstadt Schwabing with a direct rail connection to the U2. This means that in future the main station (Hauptbahnhof) can be reached with just one change.
  •     The newly created, attractive tangent to Rotkreuzplatz and Romanplatz means that the company and hotel locations in Parkstadt Schwabing are even better connected within the city.

Since the beginning of the year, also night owls have benefited from improved services: in the Munich city area, the subway now also runs all night (every 30 minutes) from Friday to Saturday, Saturday to Sunday and before public holidays, creating an additional service to the night-time Tram (unchanged timetable) and bus services (individual adjustments to routes due to parallel subway services).
